Happy Earth Day all you little Earthlings! We celebrated with our church, which collected Green Pledge signatures, and at Full Circle Farm, an amazing plot of land in a neighborhood that grows food and throws parties. I was volunteering at the Stroller Hikes mothering tent. When Luke and the boys came up to meet me, it took me a split second to recognize them and before I did I thought "Wow, what a nice looking group." They looked so laid back and happy and attractive. I was delighted when my brain kicked in and realized they were mine. Totally a moment I want locked in my mind forever.
This weekend's been a lot of fun:
We're eating simply and well. Healthy chili with some meat, some beans, and lots of veg and rice. Chard from our yard on pastina with poached eggs and Parmesan. Greek-mix stuff with hummus and veg, tzatziki, chickpeas. These meals almost make up for the milkshakes I want/have way too often. :)
I'm listening to Alabama Shakes and Robert Plant with Allison Krauss. You should be, too! Start with this and this, I suggest. Oooo, and have you heard Kimbra sing this?
I'm a social butterfly this weekend. Book club night and a goodbye brunch for a mom friend! It's been gooooood to have some lady time.
We spent a lot of time outdoors this weekend and it was hot! (Okay, 80s.) The boys acted like wilted celery for the first few hours, but eventually perked up. What do Texas kids do all spring/summer/fall???
Peace, love, and chard,
Jenn

I totally like that Kimbra song! And that's so cool how she did the whole thing just herself! I'd only seen the regular music video before. Have you watched the video for another of her songs called Good Intent? I thought it was neat. Listening to the other two now.....
These Texas kids...enjoy the upper 80s in the 'spring' and 'fall' and go out before 10 and after after 6 in the 110 degree heat of summer. Hah! Lots and Lots and Lots of water...to drink, to swim, :) I can't wait to seeeeee youuuu!!
